Monsta X to be first K-pop artist to perform at “Teen Choice Awards”

The group Monsta X will appear at the “2019 Teen Choice Awards” ceremony – the awards ceremony representing U20 teenagers in the US.

On August 7, Monsta X’s poster to join event was posted on the group’s Twitter along with the caption, “See you this Sunday at the #teenchoice awards!”. “Teen Choice Awards” is an awards ceremony which can help to measure an artist’s popularity when selecting the award recipient based on the vote of the U20 generation in the US. Through this event, Monsta X will have the opportunity to meet the audiences when stepping on the stage as the character who represents the K-pop wave.

Starship Entertainment said, “We accepted the invitation from the organizers of the awards ceremony. We are very proud to think that they are the first K-pop artists to be able to stand on this stage.”

This year, the 21st “Teen Choice Awards” ceremony will be held in LA (US) on the afternoon of August 11 (US time). BTS was nominated for the Choice Collaboration Award and Choice International Artist. Blackpink is named in the Song-Group Choice category with the song “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and the Choice International Artist category. In addition, EXO and NCT 127 are also competing for the Choice International Artist Award category.

The “2019 Teen Choice Awards” ceremony will be aired on Fox channel featuring the host David Dobrik – the popular YouTuber who owns nearly 13.38 million subscribers.
