Jennie (BLACKPINK) is Korea’s first solo female singer to own a 300-million-view MV with MV “SOLO”.
MV for Jennie’s first solo song “SOLO” – which was uploaded on BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel – surpassed 300 million views after 6 months. Along with that, YG Entertainment also shared the good news with fans when unveiling special poster via the official blog.
As the first BLACKPINK member to conduct the solo project, Jennie launched the song “SOLO” on November 12, 2018. This MV hit 100 million views after 23 days of its release, helping Jennie to establish a new record of MV gaining this achievement in the shortest time. With that momentum, Jennie continued to reach great achievements when becoming the first solo female artist to own an MV reaching 200 million views and 300 million views in 90 days and 182 days.
Earlier, on May 11, “DDU-DU DDU-DU” MV reached 800 million views, thereby becoming the first K-pop MV to reach this milestone and own the highest view number ever. Meanwhile, Jennie is also constantly setting a series of new records with the “most awesome” achievements among female soloists.
All 8 MVs released since BLACKPINK’s debut including “DDU-DU DDU-DU” (800 million views), “AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST”, “BOOMBAYAH” (500 million views), “Kill This Love, “PLAYING WITH FIRE”, “WHISTLE”, “SOLO” (300 million views), “STAY” (100 million views) have a hundred million views.
