Girl group BLACKPINK has written their name on Billboard’s main chart for 3 weeks in a row, marking an important milestone in the history of Kpop girl groups.
According to the latest chart of Billboard published on April 30, the new song “Kill This Love” by BLACKPINK ranked 86th on Hot 100 – the main singles chart while the group’s EP album of the same name landed at No. 129 on Billboard 200.
After releasing “Kill This Love” on April 5, BLACKPINK entered both Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts for the first time at the No.41 and No.24 places, respectively. This is the first and the best record for a Kpop girl group.
BLACKPINK also has considerable achievement when maintaining their position at No. 73 on Hot 100 chart and No. 93 on Billboard 200. Moreover, the girls have also held on to this feat for 3 weeks, breaking their own record when staying on these two charts for the longest time as a Kpop girl group.
BLACKPINK’s reputation is stable not only in the US. “Kill This Love” stayed firmly on the Official Singles Chart Top 100 (the UK) – the world-top music chart alongside Billboard – for 3 successive weeks.
BLACKPINK is promoting all of their efforts through the concerts as well as stages at the “Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival”, thereby forming a solid foundation for successful activities in the US.
Currently, BLACKPINK is holding the North American tour. The girls will have a concert in Newark, the US on May 1 and 2 after finishing the show in Hamilton, Canada on April 27.
